Women’s Conference Celebrates Another Sell-Out with Helen Hunt
FRESNO – The 26th Annual Central California Women’s Conference is officially sold out.
More than 3,500 women will celebrate a day of fun, growth, and knowledge at the Fresno Convention and Entertainment Center on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
The theme of this year’s CCWC is “Live Your Passion” and encourages attendees to explore, plan and then live their best lives with passion.
Oscar- and Emmy-winning actress, Helen Hunt, is this year’s keynote speaker. She joins 32 other national and local speakers who will discuss important topics for women at the daylong event. Hunt is a beloved actress on television, stage and screen – with starring roles in such acclaimed films as “As Good as it Gets (for which she won a Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild Award and the Oscar). For her starring role as Jamie Buchman in “Mad About You,” Hunt garnered four Emmy Awards, four Golden Globe Awards (three as lead actress and one as Producer for Best Comedy), and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
Hunt’s keynote speech, “Live The Journey of Life With Passion,” will explore her belief that it is her duty as an artist and a woman to choose her roles carefully, only selecting those that portray women in a positive light and in leadership positions. She will share why her most important role is as a strong, independent woman and mother, whether on or off screen.
Conference Board president, Nené Casares, says women throughout the Valley are in for a real treat with the diversity and variety of topics covered by this year’s speakers.
“We are especially thrilled that in addition to bringing the fabulous Helen Hunt, we have our first ever Latina Warm-up speaker. Puerto Rican native Maria Marin will grace our stage,” Casares said.
Marin is an international motivational speaker, national newspaper columnist, author, and radio host.
“Maria is known worldwide for her expertise in the ‘Art of Negotiation,’ and her wealth of knowledge in this area has allowed her to become one of the few Latinas who teaches negotiation all around the world,” Casares added.
Women of all ages, ethnicities and economic backgrounds attend the annual event. In keeping with the conference mission of empowerment, to date, $550,000 has been donated to the Valley community by the conference to support women’s and children’s community benefit organizations.
