Welty, Ruiz to be Recognized at CVBI Event
CLOVIS, Calif. (Oct. 5, 2012) – On Wednesday, Oct. 10 at the Central Valley Stock Exchange, Central Valley Business Incubator will celebrate the legacy and accomplishments of two valley leaders: Fred Ruiz, Founder and Chairman Emeritus of Ruiz Foods, Inc., and Dr. John D. Welty, President, California State University, Fresno.

The Perpetual John D. Welty Vision & Stewardship Award has been created to honor individuals who, like Dr. Welty, provide vision, stewardship, tenacity, investment and belief in the power of entrepreneurs who have charted the course so that others may succeed; those who provide stewardship for future success and growth. In future years, this perpetual trophy will be awarded to individuals who demonstrate the kind of leadership that is synonymous with Dr. Welty’s legacy throughout the Central Valley.

Welty Vision and Stewardship Award of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. It’s our way of honoring the legacy of Dr. Welty’s contributions to the Valley.”

The Spirit of Entrepreneurship Award is bestowed upon the entrepreneur who demonstrates the passion to create and the tenacity and talent to turn an idea into a sustainable business. They embody ambition, creativity, leadership, adaptability, positivity and tenacity. CVBI-SBDC is honored to recognize Fred Ruiz, Founder and Chairman Emeritus of Ruiz Foods, Inc. as the 2012 Recipient of the Spirit of Entrepreneurship Award. The awards will be presented during the Central Valley Business Incubator’s Central Valley Stock Exchange, scheduled for October 10 at Clovis Veterans Memorial. The award presentation will take place following a robust networking and trading session, approximately 8 p.m.
