THE BIG FRESNO FAIR JOB FAIR BRINGS 1,300 QUALIFIED CANDIDATES
Today The Big Fresno Fair held its 4th Annual Job Fair with goals of filling the more than 500 positions available during the 2014 Big Fresno Fair October 1 – 13. After the Job Fair concluded just after 1 p.m., organizers estimated that more than 1,300 people came out looking to be part of the Central Valley’s largest annual event – The Big Fresno Fair. Available positions included ticket sellers and takers, parking attendants, customer service representatives, janitorial staff, office staff, barn crew attendants, horse racing staff and security guards.
Department Supervisors and Fair Management described this year’s event as a highly successful Job Fair with a great turn out of qualified candidates. The goal of The Big Fresno Fair Job Fair is to create a greater level of awareness among Central Valley residents that these job opportunities exist at The Big Fresno Fair, especially for those who continue to look for work during these trying economic times. The slight reduction in turnout from 2013 is a positive sign that our workforce is getting back out there in permanent job positions, which also allowed hiring managers to spend more one-on-one time with individual candidates during this year’s Job Fair.
