FRESNO – Taco trucks from throughout the Central Valley will descend upon Chukchansi Park tonight for Taco Truck Throwdown 3, taking place along with this evening’s Fresno Grizzlies baseball game.

During the second Taco Truck Throwdown last year, more than 11,000 excited Grizzlies fans packed the ballpark, and over 13 trucks sold over 14,500 tacos.

“We’re looking to expand those numbers,” said Grizzlies spokesperson Chris Kutz.  “We’ll have at least 15 trucks this year.”

The taco vendors will be vying to win the title of champion in both the Judges’ Choice and People’s Choice categories.  Last year, vendor El Premio Mayor swept both categories, and will be looking to defend its title.  Two tickets packages are available for the evening.  One includes a Field Level Reserved ticket, four taco vouchers, and a Taco Truck Throwdown T-shirt for $20.  The other package includes a Field Level Reserved ticket, eight taco vouchers, and a Taco Truck Throwdown T-shirt for just $28.  Tacos will be sold individually for only $2 apiece.

Tonight is also the final Tecate Thursday of the season, meaning fans can enjoy $2 24 oz. Tecate and Tecate Light beverages through the 5th inning, and $1 sodas during the entire game.  Gates open early at 5:30 p.m., and attendees can view a live performance by Doc’s Holiday and a post-game show from Lucha Xtreme Wrestling Entertainment.

For ticket and other information, call (559) 320-TIXS or visit the Chukchansi Park box office in downtown Fresno.
