Selland Arena Makes Year End Top 200 Arena List

FRESNO, CA – Pollstar Magazine has included the Fresno Convention & Entertainment Center in its Top 200 of Arena Venues in the magazine’s Year End Worldwide Ticket Sales Report.

Figures released last week show the Selland Arena ranked at #151 on the International List and #84 on the National Level , note worthy rankings given the size of the venue, capacity of 9,000, and the Fresno population base of 501,362, in comparison to other arenas on the list. The rankings are based on reported tickets sold in 2012 at the Arena for all events, excluding non-competitive events.  Selland Arena reported 75,221 tickets sold in 2012.

The highest ranked arenas are located in large metropolitan cities worldwide:

1. The O2 in London (capacity of 20,000 and a population base of 8,174,100)

2. Palacio De Los Deportes in Mexico City (capacity of 21,004 and a population base of 8,857,188)

3. Manchester Arena in Manchester, United Kingdom (capacity of 21,000 and a population base of 503,100)

4. Staples Center in Los Angeles (capacity of 20,000 with a MSA of 4,065,585) — the top-ranking U.S. venue

5. Arena Ciudad De Mexico in Mexico City (capacity of 22,000 with a population base of 8,857,188)

6. Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada (capacity of 21,500 with a population base of 1,649,519)
