FRESNO – The SMG-managed Save Mart Center at Fresno State was ranked 50th  among venues throughout the world in ticket sales for concerts and other entertainment events in the first quarter of 2013, as compiled and reported by PollStar magazine, a leading concert and venue industry trade publication. The rankings are based on tickets sold for those events occurring from January 1 through March 30, 2013.  The arena ranked 27th among venues in the United States, and 2nd for venues on a college campus.

An impressive first three months of sports and entertainment events in 2013 included performances by George Strait, Carrie Underwood, Tiesto, Jeff Dunham and the Rock & Worship Roadshow. Other noteworthy events included WWE Super Show, Run For The Dream Indoor Track & Field Invitational meet, Harlem Globetrotters, Professional Bull Riders Table Mountain Casino Invitational, and Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam. As home of the Fresno State Bulldogs, Save Mart Center also hosted the inaugural Mountain West conference home schedules for both the men’s and women’s basketball teams.

“We begin each year excited for the first quarter schedule of events, and this year’s lineup didn’t disappoint” said Steve Tadlock, SMG regional general manager of the arena. “Our inclusion among the world’s elite venues in Pollstar’s rankings is an honor, and validates our position as the premier entertainment venue in Central California.”

The events keep coming in 2013, with already announced shows including Chris Tomlin, Q97’s Light It up Tour starring Wiz Khalifa, Sesame Street Live’s “Can’t Stop Singing”, A Ladies Dream Night Out featuring Tyrese, Ginuwine, and Tank,  and Kenny Chesney.
