FRESNO – The Economic Development Corporation serving Fresno County (EDC) has announced that a Business Delegation from Hong Kong will be visiting Fresno County on Wednesday, June 12 for the purpose of investing in our region by purchasing local products.

The delegation, consisting of 14 business leaders, will experience and see firsthand how products go from the Central Valley’s rich ag land to the table.  The delegation will walk through farm fields and tour the Fowler Packing Plant and Wawona Frozen Foods.   Following the tour, delegates will gather at the Veterans Hall in Clovis for a food tasting event and the opportunity to network with local businesses.

“We are excited to host the delegation from Hong Kong as it allows Clovis to show off its genuine hospitality and opportunities for shared prosperity between our two cities,” said Lynne Ashbeck, mayor of Clovis.

“More and more people internationally are seeing the importance of Fresno County because of the richness of agriculture and the quality of our food,” said Lee Ann Eager, president/CEO of the EDC.  “We are excited to exhibit some of Fresno County’s finest companies and assist with their expansion by providing opportunities for them to sell to new markets.”

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the EDC in partnership with the City of Clovis, U.S. Department of Commerce, and many others helped arrange the trade mission.  The delegates are here on a statewide trade mission.  They are visiting Los Angeles, Napa Valley, and Fresno County.
