Hanford’s VIEW Partnership

The City of Hanford is laying the foundation for the energy future of the city today for a prosperous energy future for residents tomorrow. In collaboration with Southern California Edison (SCE), SoCal Gas (SCG) and the VIEW Partnership (VIEW), the city is making meaningful, cost-effective and lasting changes to the way the city uses energy.

With the support of the two entities the city has become a growing energy saving resource for businesses, homeowners, renters and even other local governments regarding energy saving.

SCE Utilities Hanford – Completed 2 projects with EECBG funds
- Provides almost $1000 in annual energy savings on top of $1000 in SCE incentives – One project in 2012 that saved the city more than $15,000 in annual energy costs – Tulare Fuel Cell
Co-Generation – EECBG funded projects & comprehensive energy audits
- Traffic signals replaced with LEDs= $36,000 annual savings
- Exhibit hall lights replaced with T-5 and controls = $14,900 electrical cost savings & significant thermal savings
- Parking structure lighting= $46,300 annual savings
- HVAC retrofits = $7,500 annual savings – EECBG funded project that will save $600 per year!
- WWTP renovation = $38k SCE incentive – Energy efficient lighting
- HVAC replacement
- Parking lot solar installations at County Government Center & Hanford Library
- Co-generation
- EE and natural gas vehicles – EECBG lighting project
= $34,040.31 incentive!
- 3 projects for 2012 to save County almost $60k annually – Downtown Hanford street & parking lot lighting project – will consume HALF the energy, saving approx. $18k per year!
- HVAC replacement at City Hall & Longfield Rec Center
- 1 Megawatt solar array at WWTP to save approx. $80k per year!
