Fresno Food Expo Takes Its Show on the Road
Will host ‘Fresno Food Expo Pavilion’ at Taste of California Trade Show & Conference
Fresno, Calif. – This week, seven local food producing companies have headed to Oakland to participate in the annual Taste of California Trade Show & Conference hosted by State Center Community College District (SCCCD) Center for International Trade Development.
From Nov. 5 – 7, Bobby Salazar’s, Gerawan Farming, La Tapatia Tortilleria, Inc., Raisin Administrative Committee, Simonian Fruit Company, Valley Lahvosh Baking Company and Wawona Frozen Foods will be part of the “Fresno Food Expo Pavilion” at the Trade Show, which provides an opportunity for California exporters to meet one-on-one with 75 qualified buyers from China, Taiwan, South Korea, Mexico, European Union, India and United Arab Emirates.
The City of Fresno and Fresno Food Expo organizers were approached by the California State Board of Food & Agriculture and the Centers for International Trade Development (CITD) regarding the opportunity to host a “Fresno Food Expo Pavilion” at Taste of California. “We are pleased to feature the Fresno Food Expo, as the San Joaquin Valley represents one of the world’s most agriculturally rich and diverse regions, providing a wide range of food producers for the international buyers to meet and develop productive relationships with,” said Candy Hanson-Gage, director, State Center Community College District Center for International Trade Development.
The opportunity to showcase Fresno Food Expo exhibitors, representing the 8-county San Joaquin Valley, in front of key international buyers is a testament to the significant growth and draw the annual Fresno Food Expo has garnered in its first two years.
“Taste of California provides us prominent exposure to the international buying community, including key exporters, to continue our mission to assist San Joaquin Valley owned and headquartered companies with tapping into opportunities of growth,” said City of Fresno Mayor Ashley Swearengin.
The City of Fresno and Fresno Food Expo organizers have recently began collaborating with SCCCD Center for International Trade Development on new opportunities. Expect an additional announcement on this effort in the coming weeks.
