Fresno EDC Holds 10th Annual Real Estate Forecast
FRESNO – The Economic Development Corporation serving Fresno County reached a milestone Thursday when it put on its 10th Annual Real Estate Forecast at the Radisson Hotel & Conference Center in downtown Fresno.
Some of the top local real estate experts Fresno County has to offer were part of an eight-man panel that offered its findings of the past year, as well as the coming year, in real estate.
“It’s really exciting right now because things are finally turning around,” said EDC President and CEO Lee Ann Eager. “We have eight speakers up here who are experts in real estate, and finally they have positive things to say, that we’re headed in the right direction.”
Eager says that it’s hope that keeps people coming back to the event every year. During the first Real Estate Forecast in 2004, the real estate market was doing well, but the speakers warned against being too optimistic. Then, between 2006 and 2007, the real estate market busted. Now it’s facing a turnaround. People are more financially prosperous, more companies are coming into the area, and the experts are saying now is a good time to buy.
“I think people do come to this event to try to plan for the future, and to see what they need to be doing,” Eager said.
