Community Medical Centers today announced of senior vice president for Managed Care and CEO of Community Care Health Plan

Community Medical Centers today announced Aldo De La Torre has accepted the position of senior vice president for Managed Care and CEO of Community Care Health Plan.

De La Torre brings more than 18 years of managed care leadership experience to Community Medical Centers. He specializes in the development and execution of unique provider collaboration models, comprehensive network contracting strategies and payment innovation models.

De La Torre will be instrumental in furthering Community’s population health management strategies and will begin his duties on Nov. 3.

De La Torre previously served as vice president of Provider Engagement and Contracting, West Region for Anthem Blue Cross. While at Anthem, he was responsible for more than 200 associates and over $14 billion dollars in healthcare expenditures throughout California, Colorado and Nevada.

Most recently, De La Torre developed, led and successfully launched the Anthem Blue Cross-Vivity virtual integrated delivery system model with seven competing hospital systems in Los Angeles and Orange County. The Vivity collaboration has been recognized as the first of its kind in California and the nation.

He also oversaw the development and launch of Anthem’s California Accountable Care Organization strategy – the largest in the state with over 15 medical groups, and developed and oversaw Anthem’s network strategy for the health insurance exchanges, which helped Anthem achieve the number one market share position in California.

De La Torre received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from California State University, Chico and also speaks Spanish. He received a master’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of Southern California. De La Torre is past co-chair of the Anthem Blue Cross Hospital Relations Committee and past board member of CalINDEX, the Integrated Healthcare Association and Health Access Solutions.
