City of Fresno Goes Mobile with Official FresGO App

FRESNO, CA – The City of Fresno is pleased to launch FresGO, the official platform for residents to access their government in a single location. With this new tool, residents can submit, track, and view nearby service requests through their smartphones as well as online. Residents can also use the in-app widgets to find information about events, public facilities, trash pickup, and more.

The mobile app is part of an overall program for the City to improve resident communications and service delivery. City staff then redirects and responds to submitted requests through their customized workflow management system. The City of Fresno also uses the staff system to provide residents real-time status updates and comments on the submitted requests.

“The need for government to improve customer service and embrace new technology has never been more important,” said Mayor Ashley Swearengin. “Thanks to FresGO, our citizens are now better connected to the City and can see the results in their neighborhood in real time. It’s their mobile front door to City Hall.”

 

 

This new tool is especially useful to residents who are always on-the-go. FresGO users simply snap a photo, add their location, and send it directly to the City of Fresno. They no longer have to worry about calling City Hall to follow up. Enabling push notifications on their smartphones allows residents to receive alerts on their requests, or they can simply log into the app to check on their request status.

To help the City of Fresno reach all of its residents, the application supports 17 languages through its One Voice Translation feature. When a resident submits a request in their native language, it is automatically translated into English for Fresno officials. Subsequent updates and comments on the request are automatically translated back into the resident’s native language to enable a seamless dialogue between the government and residents.

Residents can also access the platform directly through the City of Fresno website by visiting www.fresno.gov/fresgo and those without Internet access can still call in their requests to 621-CITY.

The City of Fresno launched the application in partnership with PublicStuff, an innovative civic software company that helps residents and local governments connect to improve the quality of life in their communities.
