FRESNO, CA, [October 6, 2014]: CalViva Health, the local health plan serving Fresno, Kings, and Madera Counties, is sponsoring a bike ride from Madera to Fresno to Hanford, visiting CalViva Health Community Centers along the way. Co-sponsors include Local Health Plans of California, the Cota Cole LLP, Health Net of California, and individual supporters. The money raised will be given to Children’s Health Initiative, a locally funded program to expand health coverage to populations of children that might not have access to it otherwise, and to Susan G. Komen® Central Valley, dedicated to education and advocacy to cure breast cancer.

A team of volunteer cyclists, led by avid cyclist Greg Hund, will ride through the CalViva Health service area beginning at 9:00 am on Friday, October 10, 2014. The cyclists will start from the CalViva Health Community Office in Madera at 8:00 am and bike south to arrive at The Community Center in Fresno at approximately 11:00 am. After a short layover there, the team will continue their ride to finish at the Community Office in Hanford at approximately 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm.
