BITWISE INDUSTRIES CEO SOBERAL TO TALK TECHNOLOGY AND FRESNO JAN. 20

Jan 12, 2017 No Comments by

ake A. Soberal, CEO of Bitwise Industries will speak on “How to Fix America’s Most Broken City: The Bitwise Story” at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, in the Henry Madden Library at Fresno State.

At the free, public event hosted by the Friends of the Madden Library, Soberal will examine how Bitwise promotes the incubation of new technology in the Central Valley. Since 2013, Bitwise has provided technology hubs and collaborative workspaces, as well as custom software development through Shift3 Technologies and Geekwise Academy, a computer programming training program.

“A simple idea between two people was able to spark a movement in a city where people said this type of progress was impossible,” says Soberal. “Bitwise Industries was able to change the landscape of the technology scene in Fresno by bringing in a space for new technologies and business through education, collaboration and innovation.”

Soberal is a graduate of Clovis High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He holds a law degree and practiced as an attorney before co-founding Bitwise in 2013.

A reception with hors d’oeuvres and a no-host beer and wine bar will begin at 6 p.m. with the program to follow at 6:45. This is a free, public event. Parking is free after 4 p.m. RSVP at www.fresnostate.edu/libraryrsvp (enter code LIBBIT).

The Friends of the Madden Library sponsor, promote and raise funds for the programs and collections of the Madden Library.
