’40 Under 40′ – Jennifer Alcorta – Alpure Environmental Services of Fresno

After graduating from Tranquillity High School, Jennifer Alcorta attended California State University, Bakersfield on a softball scholarship.  The beginning of her junior year she transferred to California State University, Fresno to focus more on academics and graduating.  After Fresno State she enrolled in an EMT course through American Ambulance, and upon completion entered the Fresno City College Fire Academy, and was the only female to graduate the program.

Alcorta began a part-time office job at Alpure Environmental Services, an indoor air quality consulting firm providing mold assessments, clearance testing, VOC testing, water/soil analysis, allergen screenings, and black water loss testing in 2006.  That eventually turned into a wonderful mentor relationship with the owner and a promotion to operations manager in 2010.  After two successful years as operations manager, Alcorta purchased the company in July 2012 and became owner of Alpure Environmental Services.

Since the transition of ownership, Alcorta has been committed to upholding the impeccable level of service already established from the previous owner, and building strong relationships in the community.  She has served on the California Apartment Association voting board for environmental issues in property management, and has been a guest speaker at their informative luncheons about environmental concerns in multi-family housing.  She has conducted many educational presentations on mold and its effects throughout property management companies, hospitals, industrial companies, etc.

Alpure Environmental Services of Fresno was recently awarded the Better Business Bureau’s 2013 Torch Award for Marketplace Excellence in Business Ethics.a high honor and proud accomplishment for her first year as business owner.  Alcorta finds it very important to give back to the community that supports her, so she has offered her support to local charities such as GSA, Dakota House, Marjaree Mason Center, North Star Family Center, and Central Valley Animal Shelter.
