’40 Under 40′ – Alisha Olivier – Office of Assemblymember Jim Patterson
Alisha Olivier is a communications professional who has promoted important causes ranging from opening Fresno’s veterans home to encouraging local government bureaucracies to make our community more business friendly.
She began her career working in television news rooms at KGET in Bakersfield and at ABC 30 in Fresno on the assignment desk where she developed story ideas, managed news crews and worked under intense pressure to ensure fast and accurate breaking news coverage.
Using her knowledge of day to day newsroom operations and story selection, Olivier moved into the political realm as communications director for Assemblymember Henry T. Perea. While there, she landed stories about select pieces of legislation in the Wall Street Journal, LA Times and the San Francisco Chronicle, among others.
After a stint as the public affairs manager for Granville Homes, Olivier is happy to be back working for the State Legislature as communications director for Assemblymember Jim Patterson.
