The Visalia Parks and Recreation Department announces the return of their popular holiday attraction to downtown Visalia. The Enchanted Ice Garden will have its grand opening on Friday, December 16th from 4 pm to 9 pm at Garden Street Plaza.

The Enchanted Ice Garden will be open every day from December 16th through January 2nd, including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day and, every weekend in January.

“We are very excited to bring the Enchanted Ice Garden back to downtown Visalia,” stated Jeannie Greenwood, Director of Visalia Parks and Recreation. “Our rink is brand new and bigger and better than ever.”

Presented by the Visalia Parks and Recreation Department, the Enchanted Ice Garden is one of only a handful of outdoor ice rinks in the Central Valley.

Garden Street Plaza will once again be transformed into a winter wonderland, as the rink fits perfectly inside and will be comprised of synthetic ice. Why synthetic ice? It is more versatile and safer than refrigerated ice and will not require on-going refrigeration, saving both energy and water.

A perfect outing for friends, a family night or even a holiday party, the Enchanted Ice Garden is open to all guests, however, skaters must be four years or older to venture onto the ice.

Open-skate admission is $10 per person and includes skate rental. There is no charge for spectators to come out and watch the fun.

Special event movie/skate nights have been scheduled to enhance the holiday experience. These event nights are just $5 per person. Space is limited for these events, so attendees are encouraged to purchase their tickets early. Tickets for special event nights will be available at the Visalia Parks and Recreation business office, located inside the Anthony Community Center at 345 N. Jacob Street.

Special event nights are sure to be a big hit with such fun movies as:
