2012 Election Results

Fresno, Calif. (Nov. 7, 2012) – The 2012 election results are in, and the political representatives who will be leading us into the future have been chosen.

Even though Barack Obama claims victory over opponent Mitt Romney, Romney was a decisive winner in central California.  He garnered 55% of the vote in Fresno County alone, while Obama had to settle with 43%.  U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein also defeated opponent Elizabeth Emken, but only received 45% of the vote in Fresno County.

Locally, Steve Brandau managed a win over area businessman Pat Di Cicco, earning more than 53% of the vote to become the Fresno City Council member for District 2.  Jim Costa proved popular to voters, getting more than 65% of Fresno County’s vote compared to Brian Daniel Whelan’s 34% and remaining Congressman.  Voters in Fresno County also favored David Valadao over John Hernandez in the 21st Congressional race, with Valadao earning more than 66% of the vote.
