FRESNO – The Fresno Grizzlies will begin their home season tonight at Chukchansi Park with a game against the Tacoma Rainiers, but the games won’t be the only thing fans will be able to experience.

Grizzlies Media Relations Coordinator Chris Kutz said the focus has been on making sure attendance is consistent, and that there is success at the box office.

“There’s that dread little thing called rain that’s kind of lingering in the forecast, but hopefully is not going to come,” Kutz said.

Grizzlies fan have plenty to look forward to this baseball season.  Fireworks will be returning on Friday nights, as well as Farm Grown Fridays, featuring a farmer’s market at Chukchansi Park.  Another agricultural draw for fans will be the Farm Forum in May, where representatives from the ag industry will discuss various topics with fans inside the stadium’s Cru Club.  Bobbleheads will make their return, with the likenesses of San Francisco Giants player Buster Posey and former Giant Will Clark, among others.  The Grizzlies will also host a Mini Maker Faire on April 21, and will be the first sports team to do so.

“We add value to people coming here on Sunday afternoon,” Kutz said.  “They watch a baseball game, but before they can see this really cool Maker Faire, that everyone across the world are experiencing.”

The game is scheduled to begin tonight at 7:05 p.m., and the first pitch will be thrown out by Fresno State quarterback Derek Carr.  For ticket information, call (559) 320-TIXS or visit
