FRESNO – Congressman Devin Nunes will be speaking at the Fresno Chamber of Commerce’s next Eggs & Issues Breakfast this Friday.  Attendees are encouraged to come to the event prepared with questions about key Valley issues.  The program is scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. at the University Square Hotel.

At the event, Congressman Nunes is planning to give a mid-year report on legislative activities with highlights on his business tax legislation and immigration reform.

“California businesses are facing numerous challenges, including a regulatory regime that discourages business start-ups, damages job creation, and is increasingly driving businesses to other states,” Congressman Nunes said.  “To kick-start economic growth, we need a comprehensive tax and regulatory overhaul that extricates entrepreneurs from the arbitrary authority of government bureaucrats.”

Additionally, Congressman Nunes will share his insights on current events occurring at the Federal level, such as the possibility of military action in Syria.  As a part of The Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, which has access to privileged information, the Congressman will likely have a unique understanding of the situation.

The Chamber’s Eggs & Issues events are held multiple times throughout the year and provide a format for local business and community leaders to get an update on local, state and federal issues.  Recent past speakers have included  Fresno City Council Members Steve Brandau and Paul Caprioglio, Senator Mark J. Rubio, Mayor Ashley Swearengin, City Manager Mark Scott, Congressman Jeff Denham, Assemblymember Jim Patterson and, most recently, Congressman Jim Costa.
