SELMA – Board-certified and fellowship-trained neurologist Dr. Michael Medeiros has joined Adventist Health / Physicians Network to care for patients in Selma.

Specializing in the treatment of seizures, headaches, neuropathies, strokes and multiple sclerosis, Dr. Medeiros cares for patients at 1142 Rose Ave., Suite C, in Selma.

Dr. Medeiros, who grew up in Laton and Caruthers on his parents’ farm, said he wanted to be a doctor since he was 5 years old, and his goal has been to care for patients in the Valley.

“It’s home to me,” he said. “And I’m looking forward to establishing my practice here.”

He chose neurology as a specialty “because I have always been fascinated with how the brain works and all the nerve connections in our bodies,” he said.

After undergraduate studies at the University of California, San Diego, and a master’s degree at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Dr. Medeiros then earned his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada. He completed residency training at West Virginia University Hospital, where he also completed a clinical neurophysiology fellowship.

Dr. Medeiros’ phone number is (559) 856-6165, and the fax number is (559) 856-6167.
