Saint Agnes Medical Center Earns High Honors in Patient Engagement
FRESNO – Saint Agnes Medical Center has been named among the best hospitals in California for patient engagement. Axial Exchange, a leading patient engagement technology firm, announced results from its California Patient Engagement Index, and ranked Saint Agnes fourth among 135 hospitals with an overall score of 85.
Axial Exchange’s Patient Engagement Index scored hospitals based on an analysis of publically available data in three categories, which research has shown can improve clinical outcomes and lower costs:
- Personal health management strategies – Including offering electronic access to health information, and providing mobile applications and interactive health tools.
- Patient satisfaction – Based on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) Hospital Consumer Assessment of Health Plans Survey (HCAHPS), which is used to measure patients’ perspectives on hospital care.
- Social media engagement
The only hospitals ranking higher than Saint Agnes were Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego with a score of 90; Cedar-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles with a score of 89; and Doctors Medical Center of Modesto with an overall score of 86.
To date, Axial Exchange has ranked hospitals in Florida, Texas and California with plans to release indices for other United States regions in the coming months.
