Robert Reich to Speak at Saroyan Theater April 17
FRESNO – American political economist, professor, author and political commentator Robert Reich will make a San Joaquin Valley Town Hall presentation titled “The Next Economy and America’s Future” at the Saroyan Theater in downtown Fresno April 17.
Reich served in the administrations of Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter, and was Secretary of Labor under President Bill Clinton from 1993 to 1997. He is currently the Chancellor’s Professor of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley. He is a political commentator on several television programs, and was named one of the 10 Best Cabinet Members of the century by Time Magazine, as well as sixth on the Wall Street Journal’s list of “Most Influential Business Thinkers.”
Charlene Heuer, president of the board of directors for San Joaquin Valley Town Hall, said town hall speakers present on a variety of subjects, and she feels Reich is an expert in the field of economics. His talk will be tied to one of his books, “Aftershock: The Next Economy and America’s Future.”
“He’s a well-known voice in America, and we always strive to get people who are experts in their field, which he is,” Heuer said of Reich.
