The award-winning FAACT Development Class is an eight-month intensive, educational program for community leaders to acquire knowledge on a broad spectrum of issues affecting our region, particularly the agricultural sector. The seminars discuss Fresno County and California agriculture, labor and immigration, air quality, land use planning, the path food takes from the farmer’s field to the consumer’s plate and much more.

Due to water’s importance to the region, two of the sessions will provide a comprehensive focus on watersheds, water resource management, groundwater, and water quantity and quality issues of Fresno County’s major water sources, including the Central Valley Project, the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and the Kings River system.

Guest lecturers, arranged by FCFB, provide the curriculum for the program. Last year, over 60 presenters from elected officials, industry leaders, farmers and others spoke to FAACT Class XII.

Applications to be a part of the FAACT program are available in June of each year. To be placed on an interest list, contact FCFB at 559-237-0263 or info@fcfb.org.
