Dreams do come true St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® celebrates winner of 12th Annual Central Valley St. Jude Dream Home® Giveaway
Clovis, Calif. (November 8, 2015) – This year, Jesse Ramirez from Sanger saw one of his dreams come true – and it only cost him $100. The winner of the 2015 Central Valley St. Jude Dream Home® Giveaway was surprised and honored to be one of the hundreds of winners across the country to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®.
Ramirez purchased a ticket to the St. Jude Dream Home as a way of supporting the organization but never imagined he would be the winner. He and his family were able to see the St. Jude Dream Home for the first time shortly after finding out they were the winners. He is in awe of his new home.
Estimated to be valued at $450,000, the single-family house was built by major donor and sponsor De Young Properties and is located in the Park View community in Clovis. The home features approximately 2,900 square-feet, 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a multi-generational design and is a De Young EnergySmart® home.
Not only does the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway benefit the new homeowner, but also the patients of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital who are battling cancer and other deadly diseases.
For the past 25 years, St. Jude has given away over 370 houses and raised over $300 million through the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway campaign, the largest single-event fundraiser for the hospital. Kern County alone has raised over $13 million for the fight against childhood cancer. It’s because of programs like this that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel housing or food, so they can focus on helping their child live.
