Bernie Sanders’ Fresno, California Rally
Bernie Sanders hosted a huge rally in Fresno, California’s Fresno Fairgrounds on Sunday, May 29. Paul Paul Theater was set up for 5,000 people, but the venue was overwhelmed by the number who actually showed up. There were so many people arriving for the rally that they had to close the gates and leave a huge crowd of people outside, listening on loudspeakers. Sanders’ speech lasted for more than an hour.
He acknowledged the longshot odds of winning, but also that the key to taking the nomination is in California. And it’s true. If Sanders can win by a big majority in California, he might actually be able to get more pledged delegates than Hillary Clinton. But to do so, he needs a big win and not a close one. Before appearing at the rally, Sanders has a one-on-one interview with the Fresno Bee. This photo was taken by Lilia Becerril at the rally.
