Fresno Unveils Armenia Street Downtown

FRESNO, CA – Mayor Ashley Swearengin and the Honorary Consuls of the Republic of Armenia unveil Armenia Street, the new name for Santa Clara Street between O Street to Van Ness Avenue. The ceremony outside Holy Trinity Church.

The street runs through an area where an Armenian neighborhood once stood. The renaming is just one of the Valley events honoring the 100th anniversary of what many consider the Armenian Genocide.
