Fresno – Mayor Ashley Swearengin and Fresno City Manager Bruce Rudd today announced that the City of Fresno will lower its flag to half-staff tomorrow, February 12, 2015, to honor the memory of legendary basketball coach Jerry Tarkanian, who passed away today at the age of 84.

“Our community mourns the loss of Jerry Tarkanian. We will always remember his passion for the things he loved the most – his family, Fresno State, our community, and college basketball,” said Mayor Swearengin.

The official City of Fresno flag may be lowered at the direction of the Administration. The United States flag and the flag of the State of California will remain at full height unless otherwise directed by the President or the Governor.
