’40 Under 40′ – Leslie A. Soley – Law Office of Leslie Soley

Leslie Soley is originally from Fresno and a graduate of Bullard High School where she played soccer and softball.  She attended college at the University of California at San Diego, graduating with honors and majoring in psychology.  Thereafter, Soley decided to follow in her parents’ footsteps and become a lawyer. Following college she enrolled at the University of San Francisco, School of Law where she graduated cum laude and earned her Juris Doctorate degree.

After law school Soley returned to Fresno where she worked as an associate attorney at McCormick, Barstow, Sheppard, Wayte and Carruth LLP.  She currently has her own firm and practices family law.  Recently, Soley has focused her practice on collaborative law, which allows parties to resolve their dispute in an open and respectful manner, by reaching a mutually acceptable settlement.  She believes that the collaborative practice has numerous advantages, especially where children are involved, as it increases the possibility of maintaining a civil or even cordial relationship with the other person after the resolution of the conflict.

Soley is the first vice president of the Fresno County Bar Association and looks forward to her tenure as president in 2015.

She is married to Matt Fletcher.  They have one child, Jack, who keeps them on their toes. Soley is also stepmother to Josephine, age 10.  The couple enjoy boating, playing golf and traveling in their free time.
