Tower District Homicide Victim Identified

FRESNO – Sources say that the stabbing homicide victim near The Hashtag cafe in the Tower District has been identified as local filmmaker Eric Catlapp.

Catlapp operated The Filmmakers Workshop, and was also a member of the Community Media Access Collaborative in downtown Fresno. He moved to Fresno just 2 years ago from Southern California.  He was known for his film work of weddings, bands, poetry slams, and fashion shows, as well as PAK 7 kickboxing competitions.

The stabbing occurred late Thursday night.  Police have been contacted, but have yet to officially confirm the identity of the victim.
