Commission Reaffirms Accreditation of Reedley College
REEDLEY – At its January meeting, The Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges, Western Association of Schools and Colleges took action to remove the warning status and reaffirm the accreditation of Reedley College. The Accrediting Commission reached its decision after a review of the institution’s Follow up Report and the report of the evaluation team which visited Reedley College in October, 2012.
“We’re pleased to have Reedley College’s accreditation reaffirmed. It is gratifying to know that the commission recognizes the high standards and hard work that Reedley College has always been known for,” said Reedley College Interim President Michael White.
Reedley College will submit a Progress Report to the Accrediting Commission prior to October, 15, 2013, on the team’s recommendation that the college continue to complete planning tasks that have been underway prior to October 2012.
Accreditation is the process through which a campus is approved to continue granting degrees and certificates. Institutions collectively set standards for good practice, conduct peer evaluations and self-studies, and monitor improvement and achievement of goals.
