This is the only meeting of the committee that is open to the public.

The open forum will include:

  • Review of the committee’s role

  • Explanation of the search process and confidentiality
  • Discussion of preferred attributes of the next president
  • Review of the descriptions and needs of the campus and presidential position

The search will be conducted over the next few months for a new president to succeed President John D. Welty, who is retiring after serving as president of the university since 1991.

The committee will work review applications and conduct interviews, then recommend candidates to the full CSU Board of Trustees for its decision.

It is expected that the CSU Board of Trustees will name a new president in May.
