40 Under 40: Mario Zamora – Griswold, Lasalle, Cobb, Dowd & Gin, LLP
Mario Zamora grew up in the small town of Lindsay, and obtained a bachelor’s in economics from California State University at Northridge in 2004. He next wanted to join the U.S. Army as a lawyer, and took the Law School Admission Test in December of 2004 and earned a Juris Doctor degree from Pacific/McGeorge School of Law in 2008.
Zamora was a part of the California Attorney General Summer Honors Program 2007-Criminal Division: Appeals, Writs, and Trials Section; Pacific/McGeorge Appellate and International Advocacy Workshop Leader; Pacific/McGeorge Global Business and Development Journal, comment writer 2006-2007, managing editor 2008; Pacific McGeorge California Initiative Review, initiative writer, February 2008; Pacific/McGeorge Student Bar Association vice president 2007-2008; Pacific/McGeorge Latino Law Student Association, vice president 2006-2007, president 2007-2008; and California Parole Advocacy Program, Spring 2006.
Zamora is a member of the Kings County Bar Association and the State Bar of California. He is also the former president of the Tulare Kings Hispanic Chamber of Commerce board of directors and is a League of California Cities, Public Records Act Committee member. Zamora is now an attorney for Griswold, Lasalle, Cobb, Dowd & Gin, LLP, the biggest law firm in Kings County. He represents both large and small clients, including the City of Hanford.
